Ask For Advice Before Moving Forward
When it comes to almost anything related to dealing with Senior Services and helping Mom and Dad through the process, the biggest mistake we can make is not seeking expert advice before we move forward. There are so many myths that permeate the aging process that it is far too easy to make a misstep. That is why Life's Copilot exits is to help seniors and their families find access to expert information for free.
With Caring Transitions we are part of the largest Senior Relocation and Liquidation companies in America. One of the many things we often find too often is by the time the family calls us to come out and look at their house to help them liquidate furniture or other items, they have already cleaned out the things that would have helped make an auction pay them to have. They took all that "old" Fiesta ware, Mid Century furniture, or other highly desirable items to Goodwill and kept all the "valuable" things like the dining room table, china cabinet, piano and pool table. This puts me in the position to tell them most of those things if we can get someone to pay ANYTHING for them and will come pick them up and take them away it is a win. It is to your advantage to have someone come out at the very beginning and point out what to keep and what not to.
We cover a lot of services, a virtual smorgasbord of downsizing, decluttering relocating, and liquidation of items from home. To do that we have clients who use us in multiple ways.
I want to give you information on our services we can provide. Let us DE-STRESS the process.
We do:
Decluttering
Sorting and Organizing
Document Shredding
Packing and Moving (down the hall from Assisted living to Memory care, or across the country, small or entire house.)
Unpacking and Resettling
Estate Sales/Online Auctions
House and Apartment Clean Outs, small to full hoarder
Some clients are ones who want to do much of it themselves, but need assistance on a few things, maybe with an online auction and pick-up, or a move, whatever helps take the stress off that they don’t feel comfortable with. They may have family support that they can lean into to help with much of the work and choose to do that.
Some want more assistance where we partner and work closely together, again picking menu items off the smorgasbord of services, but where Caring Transitions is more involved throughout the process. Maybe adding Sorting and Organizing, decluttering a few rooms or even all of them. Digging through boxes, drawers, closets cabinets and sorting those things that are possibly saleable, donatable, or discardable.
Others want the total concierge experience where they want to remove all the stress of the transition off their shoulders. With this Caring Transitions will go through the entire process for you from start to finish without you lifting a thing.
