Passing The Torch

When it is time to downsize or to clean out your or your loved one's home, what do you do with those emotionally charged treasures? How do you honor things that represent a passion of someone who you love? What if you don't have room for them? What can you do without feeling guilty of just tossing things away, or sending to Goodwill? How can you find someone who shares the passion that your loved one held these things?

At Caring Transitions, one of the most popular things we offer is working with the family to find those items that mean the most, but no longer fit into the family's homes and share them on our Online Auction platform, CTBids.com. We will come into the home, help determine what will have the best chance of finding that next home, prep, stage, photograph, measure and then load them onto CTBids platform that has more than 200 outlets across America. We then promote through all sorts of different estate sale sites, all across Social Media, blast out to over 10,000 emails as well as across dozens if not hundreds of different specialty collector groups. We do everything we can to help your items find the right eyeballs, those people who will welcome those emotionally charged items from your home to theirs.

We have seen these passing of the torch moments, and they have an intrinsic value that supersedes just financial. When we had items from a woman who was a passionate collector, reenactment actress and seamstress of all things of the Victorian era, and a young woman who is going to college to study theatrical wardrobing, who is also an consultant and actress at Conner Prairie so excited to carry these things forward. There are so many examples where your heart is warmed by these passing of the torch moments.

It is a solution where everyone can win and know that your loved one would be thrilled their things they loved are finding a loving home.
